angul – A full-scale off-site emergency mock drill was conducted on Friday at Jindal Steel in Angul to test preparedness for handling major industrial emergencies.
The drill was organized as per the District Off-Site Emergency Response Plan (OERP). Its main purpose was to check how effectively different agencies communicate, respond to emergencies, mobilize resources, and coordinate with each other during a serious industrial incident.
Officials from various departments and emergency services took part in the exercise. These included officers from the Factories & Boilers Department, the Fire Services, and the Labour Department. Senior officials from Jindal Steel and representatives from nearby industries also actively participated.
The mock drill was coordinated by Jindal Steel under the guidance of the Directorate of Factories & Boilers, Angul. The exercise showed that the district administration, emergency services, and industrial units are well-prepared and capable of working together to handle large-scale industrial emergencies effectively.
